NHS National Services Scotland brings together national procurement, logistics and shared services to support the delivery and renewal of Scotland’s health and social care system. Through National Procurement and Logistics, NHS NSS provides expert commercial leadership and practical support to Health Boards, working closely with local procurement teams to help deliver better outcomes, improve resilience and support service transformation.

As Scotland’s largest procurement organisation, National Procurement and Logistics manages more than £2.5 billion of national contracts, using its scale to support value-based procurement, sustainability ambitions and innovation across the system. It also operates Scotland’s largest public sector logistics operation through NHS Scotland’s National Distribution Service, supplying thousands of product lines and ensuring the reliable, timely delivery of essential goods to hospitals, health facilities and community settings across the country.

In the context of health and social care renewal, NHS NSS plays a critical role in supporting the shift towards prevention, care closer to home, and more sustainable service models through smarter procurement, logistics and supply chain planning.
