Gordon Beattie
Director of National Procurement

Gordon joined NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) in December 2019 from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, where since January 2001, he has held various senior procurement roles. During this initial period in his new role, Gordon has led the national procurement response to the COVID-19 emergency and is now focusing attention on shaping National Procurement to be well placed to meet the challenges of the future.
Gordon started in procurement in 1986 as a graduate trainee in food manufacturing then spent 10 years in the power industry before moving to the NHS.
With a grown-up family, his cocker spaniels ensure he and his wife continue to enjoy an active outdoor life in his spare time. This includes both caravanning and sailing with his family and friends.
Ivan McKee MSP
Minister for Public Finance

Ivan McKee was appointed Minister for Public Finance in May 2024. Ivan has been MSP for Glasgow Provan since May 2016.
Responsibilities include:

Brian Kennon
Consultant Diabetes and Endocrinology

Brian Kennon was appointed as a consultant diabetologist in 2004. He works at the New Victoria and Queen Elizabeth University Hospitals, Glasgow. His sub-speciality interests include transitional care, diabetes foot disease and technology enabled care. He is also interested in developing person-centred care models and a societal approach to wellbeing.
He has been national lead for diabetes in Scotland and specialty advisor to the Chief Medical Officer Scotland since 2017. He has been involved in implementation of the Diabetes Improvement Plan with the aim of improving the care of persons with diabetes across Scotland.

Pennie Taylor is an award-winning freelance journalist and broadcaster who specialises in health and care issues. Based in Glasgow, Pennie was BBC Scotland’s first Health Correspondent; she has worked both on national newsdesks and within NHS Scotland.

Peter Beukes
Category Manager: HPA/PPA, National Procurement

Peter has over 25 years of experience in business management across the medical device, healthcare services, and property sectors. As the National Procurement Category Manager for Heat and Power Purchase Agreements at NHS National Services Scotland, he leads sustainable and innovative renewable energy procurement. His expertise in global business management, strategic sourcing, and governance informs his approach to optimising procurement strategies. Peter holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science from Stellenbosch University, along with international business training from Grenoble Ecole de Management.
Chris Sanderson
Head of Procurement

Chris Sanderson is Head of Procurement at NHSGGC. His previous roles includes General Manager Procurement - NHS Lanarkshire, Head of Procurement - NHS Lanarkshire and Programme Manager: Commercial & Performance Services for NHS National Services Scotland. Prior to joining NHS Chris spent eight years at Royal Mail.
Gillian Cameron
Programme Manager

Gillian Cameron is the Programme Manager for the Supplier Development Programme (SDP), a business support initiative, supported by Scottish Government, Scottish Local Authorities and Agencies. The Programme’s aim is to help Scottish SMEs improve their performance in winning contracts in the public sector. Gillian has over 25 years’ experience in public sector procurement, previously working on many high-profile supplier engagement projects with the Ministry of Defence, the NHS and London 2012 Olympic games. She is a member of the Scottish Government’s Procurement Supplier Group, which aims to inform, influence, and engage with procurement strategy and derive the maximum economic benefit from public sector purchasing.
Under her management, SDP has continued to grow substantially, with all 32 Scottish Local Authorities, several government bodies and larger contractors taking up membership ensuring that it is a Scotland wide initiative. More than 18,000 businesses having access to the Programme’s free tender training services.
Specialising in connecting the public and private sector, Gillian’s work with the SDP has seen the reach of the Programme grow through bespoke supplier engagement; raising awareness of contract opportunities and connecting training as an early intervention to assist Scottish SME’s get tender ready, driving economic recovery and supporting the public sector and most recently the NHS with Community Wealth Building initiatives.
Gemma Waring

Gemma Waring is a qualified bid writer, trainer, and coach. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, Gemma has worked in the sector for 20 years and her career has been marked by exceptional achievements due to her determination to succeed and her passion for empowering others. A beacon of diligence and reliability, Gemma is recognised for setting and upholding high standards. Her enthusiasm for the procurement sector is infectious, propelling her to stay abreast of industry developments and generously share her knowledge, including being a key played in the roll out of the Procurement Act 2023. Gemma's dedication recently earned her the prestigious title of Runner Up in the APMP UK's annual awards in the Supplier of the Year category and seen her continuously develop her own skills as an advocate of life-long learning. At the helm of G Waring Consulting Ltd since 2019, Gemma orchestrates success in public sector tendering and procurement projects – securing new business and successful outcomes across the board. Notable accomplishments include bid writing endeavours for blue-chip companies, securing multimillion pound contracts, working with Scottish Government on a national training campaign, and securing successful outcomes in complex multi supplier / multi lot frameworks and DPSs. In her role as Lead Trainer and Skills Coach for the Bid Coordinator Apprenticeship, Gemma also runs multiple cohorts, shaping training content, and assessing learners for long term development and supporting new entrants to the sector to grow and flourish. Gemma Waring is not just a consultant and trainer; she is a driving force behind transformative change, infusing every project with unmatched enthusiasm and expertise.
Jason White
National Head of Innovation - Centre for Sustainable Delivery

Jason White is Head of Innovation at the Centre for Sustainable Delivery (CfSD), with a focus on the delivery, alongside partners, of the Accelerated National Innovation Adoption (ANIA) pathway that seeks to both assess and implement high impact, evidence based technological based innovations across NHS Scotland. Following a career in the private sector, Jason spent several years as an Assistant Director in the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust in the NHS in Northern Ireland. During this time, Jason led the development of a number of innovative services that were adopted at a national level. Through a secondment to the NI Government, he also set up and delivered a large-scale Early Intervention Transformation Programme, bringing together five Government Departments and a range of Arms-Length-Bodies (including NHS Trusts), which led to an innovative funding partnership with a large American philanthropy organisation. A Generation Q and Salzburg Global Fellow, Jason has been selected to participate in Health and Public Sector leadership programmes at Ashridge, INSEAD and Harvard Universities.

Mike has built up significant experience over the last 20years as a Manager with specific skills relating to procurement, strategic and capital planning, collaborating and delivering a wide range of projects . David Freer

David Freer is the Chief Design Officer and co-founder of Infix Support (alongside his brother, CEO Matthew Freer).
David is an experienced designer founding Glasgow based agency O Street 16yrs ago (working with clients that include Google, Spotify, Last.fm, RBS, BrewDog and Bruichladdich)
His design experience has established a people centred focus at Infix Support, which has helped shape the business and the development of their product range.
Following an international procurement exercise, Infix Support’s flagship product Infix Schedule was chosen by the Scottish Government as part of ‘once for Scotland’ approach to the digitisation of theatre scheduling. Early evaluation of the new approach with Infix Schedule indicates a 20-30% increase in theatre efficiencies, reducing waiting lists within the NHS.
Lindsey Hunter
Country Manager - Scotland, NI & NE

Lindsey Hunter is the Country Manager for Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the North East at SCC plc, where she has dedicated 23 years of her career. She began her journey at SCC as a Sales Administrator right after graduating from the University of Dundee with a BSc (Hons) in Ecology. Over the years, Lindsey has held various roles, including Internal Account Manager, Inside Sales, and Account Management, before stepping into her current leadership position.
Lindsey is currently pursuing a Level 5 Apprenticeship in Leadership and Management, further enhancing her skills and expertise. Throughout her career, she has led several key projects and technology partnerships, such as implementing a VDI solution for the NHS in Scotland to facilitate electronic medicine administration, transforming IT infrastructure for various public sector clients, and deploying public WiFi to support SME growth in city councils.
Her dedication and excellence have been recognized with numerous awards, including SCC Top Performer (2014, 2019, 2022), SCC HPE Top Performer (2013, 2021, 2022), and SCC IBM Top Performer (2022).
Outside of work, Lindsey is a full-time working mum, married with two incredible children. She also cares for a diverse household of pets, including two cats, a goldfish, a gecko, and a snake. In her spare time, Lindsey enjoys going to the gym, swimming, and trampolining.
